COMMISSIONER FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ATTENDS RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY STAKEHOLDERS DAY 2025
The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development Hon Chisom Kenneth Gbali PhD JP FNES was the guest of Honor at the Rivers State University Stakeholders day 2025 Powered by the directorate of Quality Assurance with the theme External Perspective of the University’s quality Standards.
The event which was held at the Nyesom Wike Senate Building under the Chairmanship of Mr Jacob Idungafa Ceo Fairtex group of companies, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly RT Hon Victor oko Jumbo was the Special Guest of Honor.
In his Welcome address the director of the Quality Assurance directorate Engr Prof A.H Igoni welcomed all participants to the Stakeholders day 2025 the first to be held since the inception of the University.
He highlighted how he had to galvanize every operational idea to boost the quality Specification of the University activities.
The Chairman of the event Mr Jacob Idungafa donated 10 million naira to support the directorate and gave 20 Students Scholarship for one academic year.
The Special Guest of Honor RT Hon Victor oko Jumbo admonished the University to also engage external quality assurance consultants to audit all organs of the University in addition to the creation of a Social media desk in the Public relation department.
Dr Chisom Kenneth Gbali harped on the need for the University to churn out products that can solve contemporary societal problems, he reiterated the fact that there’s a proliferation of degree holders without problem solving skills.
In his keynote Speech the Vice Chancellor of the University and Chief host Prof Nlerum Okogbule DSSRS Challenge the directorate of Quality Assurance to do more especially in Lecturer attitude in submission of results, Students attendance to lectures and satellite campuses activities these will help position the University as a citadel of learning.
